Four first team players are taking part in Movember for the second year running.

Movember is the leading charity aiming to change the face of men’s health by raising funds and awareness towards mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Since its creation in 2003, Movember has become a global phenomenon with over six million ‘Mo Bros and Mo Sisters’ opting to grow a moustache during November, growing from the original 30 in Australia 18 years ago.

This November, first-team players Adam Campbell, Dan Jarvis, Dan Ward and Robbie Tinkler have joined the movement with all proceeds going towards global men’s health partners after over £600 was raised by players and staff last season.

“There are lots of reasons why I’m doing it, but the main one is what it stands for in terms of men’s health,” said Campbell.

“It raises awareness and if you have to look a bit more stupid than normal for a month then I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world to do.

“I actually really enjoyed it last year and I ended up getting quite a nice moustache, though Rosie [Adam’s fiancé] disagreed with that massively!

“I’ve always wanted a moustache and this raises money while also being a good excuse for me to get one back, so it kills two birds with one stone.”

Was it difficult to get his team-mates involved again this year?

“Yes, very!” he laughed.

“I’ve somehow managed to recruit Wardy, and Jarv will look the business as well.

“Tinks is one of the hairiest men you’ll ever meet, so his will look pretty good again as well.”
