Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Luke Hannant, subject to National League approval.
The midfielder returns to Gateshead International Stadium on a two-year deal ahead of the opening game of the Vanarama National League season on Saturday, August 5.
Hannant appeared 45 times for The Heed during his initial spell from summer 2016 to January 2018, before then moving to the Football League with Port Vale, Cambridge United and Colchester United.
The 29-year-old won promotion to League One with The U’s in 2021, and also lifted the Scottish Championship title whilst on loan with Dundee FC during the second half of last season.
“I’m delighted to get it done,” said Hannant.
“I’ve got a lot to thank Gateshead for because they gave me my first opportunity in professional football.
“It’s always a club that I’ve kept an eye out for, and it helps knowing i’ve got people like Tinks, Louis, Whelo and Busted who I’ve worked with before.
“Coming back here had that homely kind of feeling to it – Gateshead is a club that has done a lot for me and who I’m looking to repay this season.”
