Gateshead Football Club can confirm its retained and released list ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Fourteen members of the first team squad have been retained following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season having either agreed new terms or continuing on pre-existing contracts, while a further one has been offered terms ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Academy trio Kyle Errington, Lewis Leech and Eddie Thomas signed one-year professional deals last week and will join the first team squad for the 2022/23 Vanarama National League season.
Taylor Charters, Matty Jacob, Connor Malley and Filip Marschall have all returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their respective loan deals.
Kieren Aplin, Danny Greenfield, Alex Nicholson and Nelson Ogbewe have not been retained following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season and will depart the club.
Nicholson has decided to step back from full-time football in order to focus on other work commitments following three years with Gateshead, and leaves with the best wishes and gratitude of all at the club.
Gateshead FC thanks all players departing or returning to their parent clubs for their efforts during their time with the club, and wishes each of them the best of luck in their future careers.
