A message from the board on Friday’s Emirates FA Cup second round tie.
We know last night’s result wasn’t the one you would have wanted, but we are immensely proud of the team. We held our own, the team competed well and did us all proud.
The support from the fans was amazing too. The evening passed without incident and we would like to thank you all for your support. The atmosphere in the stadium was magnificent and the team and management appreciate it so much – it really does make a difference to them.
Whether last night’s visit to the Gateshead International Stadium was your first or whether you are an ardent supporter, thank you very much. We hope you enjoyed the match and will continue to show your support for the team. Maybe we have picked up some new fans along the way too!
We would also like to take this opportunity to wish Charlton Athletic well in the next round of the Emirates FA Cup.
As our journey in the Emirates FA Cup comes to an end we are back in action at home on Tuesday night when we take on York City FC, and it would be great to see you back again to get behind the lads on their quest in the league.
