Aidan Rutledge has joined Scarborough Athletic on an initial one-month loan deal.
The forward joins up with Jonathan Greening’s side during their second season in the National League North, which currently sees them sitting 18th in the sixth tier, and will be eligible to appear in The Seadogs’ Isuzu FA Trophy tie against Chorley on Saturday.
Rutledge has appeared 16 times in all competitions since arriving at Gateshead International Stadium, scoring three goals in the form of a hat-trick in a 5-2 Durham Challenge Cup win at Dunston UTS.
“Aidan has adapted unbelievably since coming in and moving into full-time football, and we see a bright future for him at this level and even higher,” said interim manager, Rob Elliot.
“He has done really well in the game time he has had for us so far, but his long-term development comes first over our short-term needs.
“Scarborough are a good club where he can get more regular exposure of first-team football, and develop as a player as a result.”
Best of luck at Scarborough, Aidan!
