Gateshead Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of defender Alex Lankshear on a one-year deal, with an optional one-year extension.
The left-back arrives at Gateshead International Stadium after departing fellow Enterprise National League side Boston United, with whom he spent the 2025/26 season in the fifth tier.
The 23-year-old made 29 league appearances for The Pilgrims last season, taking his National League tally to 44 games having previously turned out on loan for Ebbsfleet United and Dorking Wanderers while on the books with Blackpool.
“I’m delighted to be here and just hit the ground running,” said Lankshear.
“I’m a defender that loves to defend his goal. I like to put my head in where people won’t put their feet, that’s how I like to defend.
“I can’t wait for Saturday [at home to Woking], it’s something that’s been in conversation for a while and I was just eager to get it sorted and get out there. The only thing I can think about is playing in front of the fans in the first home game – I’ve just been itching to play.”
