Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm that Ben Williams has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The deal keeps the defender on Tyneside until the summer of 2027, having made 15 senior appearances for the Heed across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, in addition to spending a brief period on loan at Northern Premier League Division One East side Ashington from February to April 2026.
Williams emerged through the Gateshead FC Academy system following his departure from North East neighbours Sunderland, earning a professional contract with The Heed in July 2024 after impressing for the club’s U19 side during the 2023/24 campaign.
He made his National League debut as a substitute against Altrincham in September 2025, before making his full debut away to Braintree Town later that month – recording an assist from central defence on the way to a 2-1 win.

The 21-year-old now signs at Gateshead for an additional year following the expiration of his senior contract at the end of the 2025/26 season, and will head into his third season as a professional with the club in August.
Great to have you with us for another year, Ben!
