We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Ben Worman on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old arrives at Gateshead International Stadium until the end of the 2023/24 season, with an optional one-year extension available at the club’s discretion.
The central midfielder most recently spent the 2023 League of Ireland season at Cork City, making 16 appearances and recording four assists, after calling time on a 14-year stay at Cambridge United.
Worman progressed through the academy system at the now League One outfit and appeared over 50 times for the club’s first-team, including 28 games in the third tier from 2021 to 2023.
“[The style of play] is what sold me straight away,” said Worman.
“The conversations I had with Rob in terms of style of play, and the fundamentals and principles of the team, fit really well with what I align with.
“I think it’s going to be a really good fit, and I’m looking forward to the chance.”
