Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of forward Billy Chadwick on a permanent transfer from York City, subject to FA & National League approval.
The 25-year-old signs with The Heed until the end of the 2026/27 season, joining the club for the second time after originally spending the first half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan on Tyneside from Stockport County.
Chadwick scored four National League goals during his first spell in the North East, most memorably netting a hat-trick in The Heed’s 6-0 win over Dorking Wanderers at Gateshead International Stadium in November 2023.
The forward has spent the opening half of the current campaign on loan with fellow National League side Scunthorpe United, making eight appearances for The Iron before his return to York in the New Year.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be here,” said Chadwick.
“As soon as I had the conversation with Rob [Elliot] and I saw that him and Louis [Storey] had come back, I was desperate to get back enjoying my football. I feel like under Rob last time I was really enjoying myself, so it was a no brainer for me.”
Welcome back, Billy!
