Gateshead FC can confirm the departure of Dale Walker from his role as goalkeeping coach.

Walker joined the club’s coaching staff in July 2023 to work alongside both first team and academy goalkeepers, and departs with the best wishes of all at Gateshead FC for the future and our thanks for his efforts across his two seasons on Tyneside.

“To have represented this football club at National League level for two years has given me the greatest thrill,” said Walker.

“Not just match day, but the whole day-to-day process of helping prepare the goalies for their short, mid & long-term ambitions. My thanks go to the management teams I have worked with (especially Rob Elliot who brought me in), the players, the back room staff and of course, to our supporters – the most robust in the land!

“Whilst numerically you are regularly outnumbered, the spirit and passion shown by so many at every away day covering countless miles is staggering, and is never unnoticed by the group. Thank you guys & girls for making me feel so at home at your club – I hope you feel you had decent value.

“Whilst the picture of the club currently looks slightly different, keep believing in the group and what it’s trying to achieve for you, and more days like the one we had together in the Wembley sunshine await you!

“Until next time, keep safe & well, Heed Army.”
