Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Dan Jones on loan from Port Vale until January 3, 2025, subject to National League & FA approval.
The left-sided defender joins The Heed for the second time in his career, having previously appeared five times during a loan spell from Grimsby Town during the 2016/17 season.
Jones played 14 times in League One for Port Vale during the 2023/24 season, after making 25 appearances for The Valiants during the prior campaign, and has racked up 86 games in League Two with Port Vale, Harrogate Town, Salford City and Hartlepool United.
“Dan’s experience over the past five, six, or seven seasons is fantastic,” said assistant manager, Louis Storey.
“He’s going to come in to help us, obviously short-term initially in the month, as we’ve had so many injuries at the back.
“He is someone who is left-sided so can provide a bit of balance to our play out, and who has got experience of being in that hybrid role of a left centre-back and left-back.”
