Ed Francis has completed a permanent transfer to EFL League One side Exeter City for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder departs after a 15-month stint on Tyneside, initially joining on loan from Notts County midway through the 2022/23 season before arriving on a permanent deal ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Francis made 58 appearances across those two campaigns, and was named as vice-captain in the summer of 2023 before going on to play a pivotal role in The Heed’s sixth-placed finish in the Vanarama National League before lifting the Isuzu FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium in May 2024.
