Jo Watson, Gateshead FC Foundation’s Community Links and Grants Manager, was presented with the Premier League’s Community Captain’s award by Mayor Eileen McMaster for all her work in the community of Gateshead over the last two years.
“Jo has been the driving force in all of the events which have been hosted within the community from breakfast clubs, family trips, tennis coaching, story-telling sessions in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and helping to raise funds for our football camps and football pop-ups,” said Gateshead FC Foundation trustee, Steven Thornton.
“Gateshead FC Foundation would also like to take this opportunity to thank all its staff and volunteers for their tireless work over the summer holidays which has enabled us to deliver over 30 events and activities within the community.
“Finally, a big thank you to our sponsors The National League Trust, The Ballinger Trust, Brighten the Day, The Postcode Lottery, NE Youth, DWP and Northumbria Police Violence Reduction Unit, whom our summer would not have been possible without.”
