Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of James Montgomery on a free transfer until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The goalkeeper re-joins the club for the fifth time after departing Spennymoor Town following the expiration of his one-month loan deal with The Heed, which saw him make eight appearances and play his part in four wins across all competitions.
The 29-year-old’s loan stint at Gateshead International Stadium took him to 81 appearances across four different spells on Tyneside, first joining the club in 2017 before then returning in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
