Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of defender Kyle Ferguson on a two-year deal.

The centre-back joins The Heed after appearing as a trialist in our midweek pre-season fixture at home South Shields, being introduced as a 53rd minute substitute in our final warm-up match at Gateshead International Stadium.

The 26-year-old arrives on Tyneside with a wealth of Enterprise National League experience under his belt, having made 82 appearances in the fifth tier to date across time with Altrincham, Rochdale and most recently, Yeovil Town.

Ferguson spent the 2025/26 season with The Glovers after initially impressing on loan at Huish Park the season prior, and went on to play 34 league games last season for Yeovil.

“It feels really good to be here, and I’m excited to get the season going,” he said.

“I can play across any positions in the back line pretty comfortably, whether it be left side of the three, in the middle of the three or on the right side. [The gaffer] sees me as being a bit more physical which will help the team definitely.

“[The gaffer] was a big reason for me signing and being so keen to sign so quickly. I had a couple of really good conversations with him on where he saw me playing in the team and how I’d fit in. The way he wants to build the team and the direction he wants to take the club sounds like something I would really like to be involved in.”

Welcome to Gateshead, Kyle!
