The fixture schedule for Gateshead Ladies first season in the North East Regional Women’s Football League Northern Division has been confirmed.
The Heed earned promotion from Durham FA Women’s League One last season with a second-placed finish – their second promotion in as many seasons – and will compete in the sixth tier for the 2022/23 season.
Simon Johnson’s side will open their campaign at Gateshead International Stadium (4G pitch) against Washington AFC Women on Sunday, September 4 before facing their first away fixture with a trip to Bishop Auckland Ladies on Sunday, September 18.
Gateshead will face familiar opponents in Guisborough Town and Spennymoor Town, both of whom Johnson’s side defeated in last season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup, as well as a host of new fixtures in the 12-team division.
The season is set to conclude on Sunday, February 26 with an away fixture at Thornaby.
All home fixtures are played at Gateshead International Stadium’s 4G pitches, and match admission is free for all supporters.
