Gateshead FC is delighted to announce that Macaulay Langstaff has signed a contract extension to remain on Tyneside until 2023.
The forward’s new deal keeps him at Gateshead International Stadium until the summer of 2023 following a goal-laden first half of the 2021/22 season.
Langstaff has scored 18 goals and recorded nine assists in 26 games so far this season with The Heed currently leading the Vanarama National League North table.
The striker’s 14 league goals see him second in the division’s top scorer chart ahead of the weekend, netting a goal every 107 minutes.
The forward’s blistering form has attracted attention from clubs higher up the pyramid over the course of this season, but Langstaff says he is committed to his football on Tyneside.
“I’m delighted to get everything signed and sorted so I can focus on my football,” said Langstaff.
“I’ve mentioned the group of lads we have here before and they’re massive in my decision to stay – it’s the best dressing room I’ve ever been involved in.
“I’m in a good place in terms of who I’m working with and I feel like I’m going to keep improving under them.”
Player-manager Mike Williamson added: “Macaulay’s work ethic has been outstanding since he has joined the club and he deserves all of the rewards that he is getting.”
