Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Salford City midfielder Liam Humbles until the end of the 2024/25 season.
The 21-year-old arrives on Tyneside having spent the past three months on loan at fellow National League side Altrincham, making eight league appearances for The Robins – including playing against Gateshead in the 2-2 draw at the J. Davidson Stadium in October.
The defensive midfielder has made 11 League Two appearances for Salford across the past two seasons, and made his debut for the club in an EFL Trophy tie against Bolton Wanderers in September 2023.
“Liam was brought to our attention a few months back,” said coach, Liam Bridcutt.
“He’s a player that can fit us really well in terms of his technical ability and his aggression on the pitch.
“He’s a really good player, a really good person, and that was a big thing for us. We’re not just building a group full of really solid footballers, we want to have a group that we enjoy working with day to day and who are really good people.”
