Next up ‘On the Road’ for the Heed is a 318-mile round trip to Greater Manchester, where we face Altrincham FC at The J.Davidson Stadium in a 12:30 kick-off.

The Robins come into this game in 14th position, four points ahead of The Tynesiders, who occupy 17th position in the Enterprise National League. Neil Gibson’s side have won their last two matches in the league, winning 2-1 at Sutton last time out.

We’ve Met Before

In the most recent meeting between these two sides, Altrincham returned to the North West with all three points in an early season meeting on Tyneside. First half goals from Lewis Banks and Tylor Golden secured the points for The Robins in a 2-0 victory.

The J.Davidson Stadium is located to the South East of Altrincham Town Centre, a short walk down Moss Lane from the railway station.

If you’re heading down by rail, our recommended route is to catch a TransPennine Express service from Newcastle to Manchester Victoria or Picadilly then change onto a Metrolink tram service to Altrincham.

If you’re driving, from the M62, follow the sign which reads M60 (East and South), Manchester and Airport. Follow the left filter lane to join the M60 motorway travelling in a clockwise direction. Continue to follow signs for Manchester Airport and at junction 3 of the M60 getinto the inside two lanes and leave the M60 to join the M56. At junction 2 of the M56 do not follow the Altrincham sign but remain on the M56 following signs for the Airport. Do not leave the M56 at Manchester Airport but continue until junction 6. Leave the M56 at junction 6 signposted A538 Wilmslow, Hale, Macclesfield. At the end of the slip road turn left at the traffic lights signposted Hale, Altrincham A538. Go straight across at the next roundabout. After approximately 2 miles approach a set of traffic lights – carry straight on and take the third turning on the right into Westminster Road. Carry straight on for approximately 3/4 mile into Moss Lane, the football ground is on the right.

There is no matchday parking at The J.Davidson Stadium, there is plenty of on-street parking available which is permitted except where indicated by yellow lines or traffic cones.

Gateshead fans are housed in The Hale End Terrace and a small section of The Popular Side. – turnstiles open at 11am, and entry is via turnstiles 5 & 6 on Moss Lane. Tickets can be purchased online here, and are priced as follows.
