We’ve Met Before

In the most recent meeting between these two sides, Gateshead returned North with all three points, ending a run of 13 successive National League defeats. The Heed took a ninth-minute lead when Kenton Richardson fired in from close range, following in after Sam Johnson had saved Mark Beck’s header. Will Harris came close to an equaliser, but Heed shot-stopper Pete Jameson saved well.

Mark Beck converted from the spot three minutes into the second half and despite half-time substitute Angelo Cappello reducing the deficit in the 56th minute, Gateshead held on secure their first win against FC Halifax Town since 2000.

The Shay Stadium is located just to the South of the Town Centre and is a short walk from Halifax Railway Station.

Travel is priced at £22 for Supporters Society Members and £27 for non-members.

If you’re heading down by rail, our recommended route is to catch a train from Newcastle to York or Leeds (LNER, CrossCountry or TransPennine Express), then a Northern service from York/Leeds to Halifax.

If you’re driving, exit the M62 at Junction 29, take the A629 to Halifax Town Centre, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout following signs for A629 (Huddersfield), then into SkircoatRoad where you will find the ground. Parking is available at The Shay and at several Pay & Display car parks between the Town Centre and The Shay.
