Gateshead Ladies put in a brilliant team performance to secure a dominant 4-0 win against Hebburn Town Women, showing composure in attack and solidity at the back.
From start to finish, they were the better side, taking their chances clinically and staying resolute when it mattered.
The scoring began in the 28th minute when Jessica Douglas put Gateshead ahead. Paris Pattinson doubled the lead just before the break. Paris struck again in the 64th minute, before Jessica rounded things off in the 77th minute.
The numerical reinforcements for Gateshead made all the difference this week, after struggling for numbers last time around.
Gateshead quickly took control of the game, with Charlotte Hoganson going close in the fifth minute after a deflected shot was saved.
At the other end, Carly Salmon was reliable as ever, making a sharp save to deny Hebburn’s ambitious 30-yard effort and handling corners with ease.
Jessica Douglas unleashed a stunning 25-yard strike into the bottom corner to put Gateshead ahead, and after that the confidence flowed.
Pattinson’s first goal came from a well-timed run and finish, sending the team into halftime with a comfortable lead.
The second half was more of the same, with Pattinson adding her second after great link-up play with Douglas.
Douglas then capped off a brilliant individual performance with her second long-range strike of the game, leaving Hebburn with no way back.
It was an outstanding all-around display from Gateshead, who controlled the game from the first whistle and fully deserved the win.
