Ferguson joined the club on a two-year deal in July 2026.
The centre-back joined The Heed after appearing as a trialist in a 2026/27 pre-season fixture at home South Shields, being introduced as a 53rd minute substitute at Gateshead International Stadium.
The 26-year-old arrives on Tyneside with a wealth of Enterprise National League experience under his belt, having made 82 appearances in the fifth tier during his time with Altrincham, Rochdale and Yeovil Town.
