Gateshead Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Simon Johnson as manager of Gateshead Ladies.
Simon joined the ladies setup as assistant manager towards the end of the 2020/21 season which saw the side lift the Durham FA Development Division title in their maiden campaign.
He has also been involved with the club’s academy programme, acting as assistant manager to the club’s under-19 side from January 2019 until the end of the 2019/20 season.
Simon will take charge of Gateshead Ladies ahead of their Durham FA Women’s League One season commencing on August 22.
“I’m delighted the club have selected me as the individual to take the team to the next level,” said Johnson.
“I have aims to coach at the highest level and I think this is an exciting project.”
