Gateshead Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Stephen Wearne.
The forward has agreed a two-year deal at Gateshead International Stadium after playing a key role in securing National League survival last season.
Wearne celebrates after scoring his first goal for the club against Scunthorpe United.
The 22-year-old initially joined the club on a free transfer in March 2023 and went on to make a huge impact in the remainder of the league season, recording six assists and scoring once in 11 appearances.
“It was an easy decision,” said Wearne.
“After playing here towards the end of last season, there was only one place that I wanted to play my football.
“I’m excited to see what I can achieve personally, but also what we could achieve as a team.
“With the players we have and the way we want to play, I think it’s going to be an exciting season.”
