Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Chesterfield midfielder Tim Akinola until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The central midfielder joins on a free transfer from The Spireites after stints on loan with fellow Vanarama National League sides Dagenham & Redbridge and Solihull Moors during the current campaign, as well as appearing five times for Chesterfield across all competitions.
The 23-year-old made 31 appearances for The Spireites across the 2022/23 season as they reached the National League play-off final, with Akinola appearing as a substitute in the final against Notts County at Wembley Stadium.
“When Gateshead came in for me it was a no brainer,” said Akinola.
“I wanted to go somewhere and start enjoying football properly – it’s really exciting for me.
“I can’t wait for the game [on Saturday], I’m quite excited for it.”
