Tom Allan has joined Spennymoor Town on an initial one-month loan deal.
The wide-man heads to the Vanarama National League North side ahead of tonight’s league fixture against Scunthorpe United, with Allan eligible for inclusion in The Moors’ match day squad.
“Like I said when I came into the club, I was going to have to have difficult conversations – particularly with lads that I’ve got great relationships with,” said Carl Magnay.
“You’ve got to be honest, and we had a really open discussion. I could have been selfish and wanted Tommy to stay because he’s a great influence on the group and he trains really well, but I just couldn’t guarantee him those minutes in a really competitive squad.
“He showed a desire that he wanted to play games and I really respected that, so it was a really amicable conversation with a great lad who will be a massive asset to Spennymoor.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how he does, and as I say it’s a one-month loan so we’ll re-assess things after that.”
Wishing you the best of luck during your time at Spennymoor, Tommy!
