Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Will Johnson from Fleetwood Town.
The defender joins on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season, boosting Rob Elliot’s options in defence ahead of the final six games of the Vanarama National League season alongside the upcoming Isuzu FA Trophy semi-final.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with the League One side in November 2022 and captains their U18 side having originally joined as a scholar in the summer of 2021.
Johnson has made one senior appearance for Fleetwood this season, playing 45 minutes of their 4-0 win over Leicester City U21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy in November 2023.
