We are delighted to welcome Wor Flags to Gateshead International Stadium as part of Saturday’s title celebrations.
Originally beginning life as Gallowgate Flags, Wor Flags aim to create breathtaking displays from the stands at neighbours Newcastle United and have grown to become a renowned part of the atmosphere and match day experience at St. James’ Park.
The Heed host Hereford in the final game of the Vanarama National League North on Saturday, May 7, and will be officially crowned as champions with the trophy set to be presented after the full time whistle.
Wor Flags will play their part in creating an unforgettable atmosphere at Gateshead International Stadium, with two large flags and up to 50 smaller flags to be used as part of the display as Gateshead receive their crown.
“We’re thrilled to be working alongside Wor Flags for the final game of the season,” said Communications Officer, James Rushmore.
“Everyone at the club is incredibly excited for what will be a historic occasion as we lift the National League North trophy, and Wor Flags will undoubtedly help towards creating an unforgettable atmosphere for all supporters on Saturday.”
“Gateshead’s achievement of being promoted back to the National League is an incredible one,” added Wor Flags’ spokesperson.
“With Newcastle fans being supportive of many of our local teams, we were delighted to help Gateshead, our fellow black and whites, celebrate the title.”
Supporters are reminded that the season’s final fixture against Hereford is now all-ticket, meaning there will be no tickets sold on the gate.
