Coyle joined on a two-year deal in August 2026.
The midfielder arrived on Tyneside after spending his youth career with Premier League side Hull City, captaining the club’s U18 squad before signing his first professional contract with The Tigers in December 2023.
Coyle spent time on loan in the Enterprise National League with Boston United during the early part of the 2025/26 season, making 18 appearances across all competitions before then joining National League North side Scarborough Athletic, for whom he played 11 times before returning to his parent club.
