Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Blyth Town defender Ben Fell.
The 20-year-old pens a one-year deal on Tyneside, with an optional extension available at the club’s discretion, after racking up his 100th appearance for the Northern League Division Two side in April 2024.
The six-foot-five central defender played an integral role in Blyth Town’s Northern League Division Two title winning campaign last season, and was also named as the division’s Player of the Season at the Northern League’s awards evening in June.
Fell started his first fixture of pre-season as a trialist at North Shields on Thursday, July 18, keeping a clean sheet in Gateshead’s 2-0 win at the Daren Persson Stadium.
“I’m delighted, it’s a big club and comes with big expectations,” said Fell.
“It was good to put the shirt on for the first time [at North Shields], and hopefully more to come.
“I think there’s no expectations of me being a first-team established player yet. Whatever I do, wherever I go, I just need to do well at it, stick in and try my best, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
