We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Ben Radcliffe from Derby County.
The centre-back arrives on a temporary basis until January 1, 2025, and is immediately eligible for inclusion in the match day squad for our Vanarama National League fixture against Barnet.
Radcliffe joined Derby in the summer of 2023, and has since made one first team appearance in the EFL Trophy alongside playing in the Premier League 2 for The Rams’ under 21 side, where he played alongside former Heed loanee Dajaune Brown and current forward Owen Oseni.
The 20-year-old spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Banbury United from Burton Albion and made 42 appearances in the National League North for The Puritans, as well as playing against Gateshead in The Heed’s 1-0 FA Trophy quarter-final win over Banbury in February 2023.
“I’m delighted to be here and ready to get going,” said Radcliffe.
“I’ve spoken to the gaffer a couple of times, I consider myself as a ball-playing centre-half so I think I can fit really well into the team.”
“I’ve been keeping tabs on [Owen Oseni] so I’ve been keeping tabs on the group – hopefully we’ll link up soon in some games.”
