Gateshead Football Club is delighted to announce the extension of Adam Campbell and Robbie Tinkler’s current deals until 2024.
The duo have played an integral part in Gateshead’s push for promotion to the Vanarama National League this season, and have penned new deals which see them commit to the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Campbell has played a key role in a flourishing front line throughout this season, making 46 appearances so far while scoring 14 goals and recording 11 assists in all competitions.
The forward’s work rate endeared him to Gateshead supporters early on in his second stint at the club, and his goals have seen him become the fourth player to hit double figures in all competitions this season alongside Cedwyn Scott, Macaulay Langstaff and Paul Blackett.
“The club felt very home-like to me from the minute I walked through the door,” said Campbell.
“I’m back home, it’s local to me, I’m settled and we’ve got a good group so everything is going in the right direction.
“The fact there’s two clubs fighting it out at the top is massive, it gives us all of the motivation we need.
“As hard as it is going to be we’re confident we can keep picking up results and see where it takes us.”
Tinkler has been a mainstay in The Heed’s defence throughout his third spell with the club since re-signing in June 2021, appearing 41 times so far this season while netting two goals and recording five assists.
The right-back became the second member of the current squad to hit 100 appearances this season, joining captain Greg Olley after passing a century in Gateshead colours in March 2022.
“The way the season has went has obviously helped,” said Tinkler.
“This year has been a bit of a saving grace, I’ve really enjoyed it and it’s got me loving football again.
“The project that we’ve got going on is quite a big thing, we’ve got a method and a way we’re doing things and it excites me.”
