Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Newcastle United goalkeeper Dan Langley.
The 21-year-old will link up with Mike Williamson’s men until the end of the 2022/23 Vanarama National League season and becomes the club’s fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Dan Jarvis, Kenton Richardson, Lewis Knight & Tom Allan.
The Tyneside-born stopper signed his first professional contract at St. James’ Park in 2019, having originally joined as a scholar at age 16, and appeared for local sides Monkseaton Juniors and Cramlington Juniors as a youngster.
Langley made his first team debut for The Magpies in a pre-season friendly at York City in July 2021, before going on to make two appearances in the Papa John’s Trophy and 11 in the Premier League 2.
“It’s been in the offing for a while,” said Langley.
“I spoke to Bails [Owen Bailey] and he says great things about the club, the way it’s ran and the way it’s set up.
“[The play style] suits me down to the ground. I would say I’m comfortable with the ball at my feet, U23s football is very similar so it’s not like I’ve been shy of it for the time I’ve been playing, so hopefully I’ll be able to fit right in.”
