25th June 2026

Gateshead will host Premier League neighbours Newcastle United as part of our 2026/27 pre-season schedule.

The Heed will welcome Newcastle to Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday, July 25th (12:30pm kick off) ahead of the new season – facing The Magpies for the first time since over 7,000 supporters turned out to watch the two sides meet at the GIS in July 2023.

That fixture saw Gateshead lead 2-0 at half time through goals from Stephen Wearne and Marcus Dinanga, before second half strikes from Elliot Anderson, Allan Saint-Maximin and Jay Turner-Cooke saw Newcastle turn the scoreline around to win 3-2.

The South Stand is accessible via the green double gates to the right-hand side of reception. At this point, your ticket QR code will be scanned to allow access to the arena.
