Gateshead FC can confirm that Jacob Butterfield has left the club following the expiration of his contract.
The midfielder departs having spent the past two seasons on Tyneside, making 54 appearances and scoring five goals while recording five assists after joining the club in July 2024.
Butterfield took on a dual role during the 2025/26 season, acting as assistant manager alongside his playing duties to appear 32 times last season as Gateshead achieved Enterprise National League survival against the odds.
