We are delighted to announce the signing of Kain Adom until the end of the 2024/25 season, subject to National League & FA approval.
The winger arrives on a free transfer having spent the opening part of the 2023/24 campaign with National League South side Welling United on non-contract terms, scoring seven goals in 23 appearances prior to his move to Gateshead International Stadium.
The 22-year-old has rapidly risen through the non-league system in recent years, and joined Welling in the summer after scoring 15 goals for Hanwell Town during the 2022/23 season following spells with Staines Town and Ashford Town.
“The move has happened so fast, but I can’t wait to prove that I can play at this level,” said Adom.
“In the first half of the season I got myself a few goals, and I want to replicate this for Gateshead.
“I can’t wait to get on the pitch, prove what I can do, and try to impress the gaffer and the boys.”
“Kain is someone I’ve watched for a little bit now, and he’s a really exciting prospect,” added Rob Elliot.
“He’s a bit raw coming from the league below, and he came from the league below that beforehand, but you can really see the potential he’s got.
“He’s got fantastic physicality, he can run in behind, he likes to shoot from distance and take people on, so he’s going to be a bit of an enigma in that he can do a bit of everything.
“What we’re really pleased about is getting someone in the building who we can develop over the next 18 months, because he’s got all of the tools to go a long way.”
