The National League line up and key dates for the 2023/24 season have now been confirmed.

Gateshead embark on a second consecutive season of fifth tier football in August following a rollercoaster National League return in 2022, securing safety with an standout second half of the campaign before reaching the Isuzu FA Trophy final for the first time in May.

Six new sides enter non-league’s highest division this summer with Hartlepool United and Rochdale dropping down from League Two while AFC Fylde, Kidderminster Harriers, Ebbsfleet United and Oxford City join from the National League North and South respectively.

Pools’ return will likely see Gateshead face them twice over the festive period for the first time since 2018/19, while The Heed will contest league fixtures against Rochdale for the first time since 1959.

Familiar outfits in AFC Fylde and Kidderminster Harriers – who both battled with Mike Williamson’s side in the National League North title race in 2022 – will return to Gateshead International Stadium this season, while Ebbsfleet United and Oxford City join from the league’s South division.

Gateshead will find out their first opponents of the season at 1pm on Wednesday, July 5 – exactly one month before the new National League season kicks off.
