Gateshead FC can confirm that Carl Morrison has vacated his position as Gateshead Ladies manager due to external work commitments.
Morrison departs having taken charge in September 2022, most notably guiding The Heed’s ladies outfit to the Womens FA Cup first round proper for the first time in the club’s history in November 2023, as well as taking Gateshead to their highest league finish to date with a fifth-placed end to the 2022/23 NERWFL season.

All at Gateshead FC would like to thank Carl for the time and effort he dedicated to his role as Gateshead Ladies manager, and wish him the best of the luck in future.
Following Morrison’s departure, the team will be managed for the immediate future by assistant manager Tom Kelly-Hansford with six fixtures remaining in their current NERWFL season.
“I would like to place on record my thanks to Carl for all his hard work this season and since his appointment,” said Kelly-Hansford.
“I am honoured to be stepping into the role of interim manager. The resilience and unity we demonstrated in my first game last Sunday saw us pick up a vital win.
“I am more than confident in our ability to finish the season strong, and we will ensure that we give everything we have got.”
