Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of forward Louis Flower on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 20-year-old arrives on Tyneside on temporary terms until the end of the 2024/25 season, and is available for inclusion in the match day squad for Tuesday’s Vanarama National League fixture against FC Halifax Town.
Flower joined Brighton & Hove Albion from fellow Premier League side Chelsea in September 2023, having progressed through the ranks from U13 to U21 level after joining The Blues from Cambridge United.
The forward has made six first team appearances for The Seagulls in the Vertu Trophy, in addition to scoring eight goals in 22 Premier League 2 appearances across the last two seasons for Brighton.
“It feels good – for me, it’s the best opportunity,” said Flower.
“There were talks between the clubs and I felt really privileged, because that at the start of January means a club really wants you.
“I’m quite direct, I’m quick and I love being in the box to score – the main goal is to score goals for the team.”
Welcome to Gateshead, Louis!
