Gateshead welcome Wealdstone to Gateshead International Stadium looking to return to winning form on Tuesday, October 3 (7:45pm kick off).
After a week of long travelling to fixtures away against Oxford City and Bromley, The Heed return to home soil to face a side making their longest away trip of the season in the form of The Stones.
Mike Williamson’s side sit fifth in the Vanarama National League table ahead of kick off and one point above Altrincham, who Gateshead face on Saturday.
Wealdstone occupy 15th place after winning one of their last five, but could move to within touching distance of the play-off places should they win and other results fall in their favour.
Stuart Maynard’s men have seen highly contrasting form when on the road, with only two of their 16 points coming away from Grosvenor Vale.
The Stones are now two unbeaten following victory over Woking and a draw against Oldham Athletic but have lost their last four away from home, conceding 11 goals in the process.
Marcus Dinanga will look to find the back of the net for the fifth consecutive game this evening, and add to his impressive tally of 12 goals in 13 appearances this term.
Heed View
“We love these types of games,” said assistant manager, Ian Watson.
“They’re going to want the ball and try to keep and control the ball.
“For us it’s about being as intense as we possibly can and trying to hurt them when we do have the ball.
“Wealdstone are a really good side – I’m looking forward to seeing how our boys react to maybe at times not having as much of the ball.”
Opposition View
“We’re leaving here at 10 in the morning to go to Gateshead, and it’s a game we’re looking forward to,” said Wealdstone manager, Stuart Maynard.
“They’re a team that play a similar philosophy to us and we know it’s going to be a good footballing game and an advert for the division.”

Two sensational strikes from Connor McBride saw Gateshead come from behind to beat Wealdstone at Gateshead International Stadium.
The Heed were a goal down for just four minutes, as McBride netted two goals from the edge of the area four minutes apart to take his side back up to fourth in the Vanarama National League table.
Mike Williamson was forced into one change from Saturday’s defeat at Bromley with Kyran Lofthouse absent after sustaining a concussion, opting to bring McBride into the starting 11 and shift Stephen Wearne out wide against The Stones.
Despite Wealdstone’s early possession, it was Gateshead who dominated in terms of chances created on home turf, and they were left wondering how it stayed goalless at half time after Jed Ward made a multitude of saves to keep The Heed at bay.
Greg Olley – making his 200th appearance for the club – was denied by a smart stop low to Ward’s left, shortly before Marcus Dinanga was thwarted by an acrobatic save to tip his goalbound header over the crossbar.
Dinanga and Olley would both see another effort each saved by Ward before the interval, and the goalkeeper would deny McBride from close range to ensure Wealdstone went into the break on level terms.
The second period brought fewer chances with it than the first, as the visitors opted to hit goal kicks long and spring counter attacks more frequently than in the opening 45.
That approach led to the first goal of the game on 72 minutes in, with Tarryn Allarakhia sliding a close-range shot under Archie Mair to put Wealdstone ahead, though that lead would last just four minutes.
It was McBride who levelled with his second goal for the club, shifting the ball onto his right foot in a tight area before rifling past the stranded Ward to bring things back to square one.
The Scotsman didn’t settle for just the one goal however, and netted an ever better second when he cut in from the left wing and curled past Ward into the far corner to seal a third home win in a row for Gateshead and a hard-fought three points.
