Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the loan signing of goalkeeper Owen Mason from Mansfield Town.
Mason joins The Heed on a temporary deal until January 15, 2025, and is eligible for inclusion in our Vanarama National League squad starting from Saturday’s home fixture against Aldershot Town.
The 20-year-old appeared against Gateshead for Guiseley during a loan spell across the 2021/22 season, and went on to spend further loans with Farsley Celtic and Kettering Town in the sixth tier before joining League of Ireland First Division side Wexford for two stints in 2023 and 2024.
“When the opportunity arose, I definitely jumped at it,” said Mason.
“[Myself and Carl Magnay] spoke about the brand of football we play here, and it’s very exciting.
“I’m really excited to show everyone that I’ve got that in my game as well.”
