Paul Blackett has joined Vanarama National League North side Spennymoor Town for an undisclosed fee.
The forward departs Gateshead having scored four goals and recorded two assists in fifteen appearances across all competitions this season.
Blackett first joined the club in the summer of 2019 and played a key role in last season’s title-winning National League North campaign, scoring 10 goals and recording one assist in 28 league appearances.
“We’ve had enquiries about a couple of lads but this is the only one that’s been official,” said player-manager, Mike Williamson.
“He deserves to be playing every minute he possibly can, and for me I didn’t know if that was going to satisfy him in terms of minutes with ourselves.
“The opportunity arose and it’s football, you never know what’s around the corner, so he went to speak to Spennymoor and he’s agreed a contract.
“He’s been different class, I can’t speak highly enough of him, and we wish him all the best.”
All at Gateshead FC would like to thank Paul for his contributions during his time with the club and wish him the best of luck at Spennymoor Town.
