The Gateshead-born forward joined his hometown club in June 2023 after a standout campaign for Birtley Town, amassing 61 goals in 43 appearances as well as recording over 15 assists during the 2022/23 season.
His efforts saw Birtley go on to secure promotion to the Northern League Division One for the first time in their history, and the forward was subsequently named the 2023 BBC Newcastle Player of the Year at the Ebac Northern Football League awards.
Rutledge made 14 senior appearances during his first season at Gateshead, and enjoyed successful loan spells with National League North sides Scarborough Athletic and Darlington, racking up 11 goals in 29 sixth tier appearances.
