The attacking midfielder first joined on a free transfer from EFL League Two side Grimsby Town in March 2023.
Wearne became a key figure in Gateshead’s surge to National League survival, recording six assists and scoring once in 11 games before penning a two-year contract to extend his stay on Tyneside until 2025.
His performances stepped up a notch in the following season, as he went on to score 11 goals and record 10 assists in 25 games across all competitions, leading him to pick up the club’s Player of the Month award twice in addition the National League’s Player of the Month award once before departing for MK Dons on a permanent transfer.
