Olley first signed for the Heed after a successful trial in 2018/19 which saw him score five goals in one and a half matches.
The midfielder agreed a new one-year deal with the club in July 2019, recording a club-leading tally of 15 assists as well as netting seven goals during the 2019/20 season.
Olley was one of a number of players to re-sign for the ill-fated 2020/21 season, and would sign on for the club once again just seven appearances shy of a century for the 2021/22 campaign.
Olley was named club captain in July 2021 and is the club’s longest-serving current player with over a century of appearances in black and white.
His first season as captain saw him record 28 assists in all competitions as Gateshead lifted the Vanarama National League North title, and Olley was also named in the division’s Team of the Season.
The midfielder penned a contract extension during the 2021/22 season until the summer of 2024 and made history once again during the 2022/23 campaign by becoming the first captain to lead the club to the FA Trophy final, and second to appear at Wembley Stadium.
Olley made 48 appearances that season, scoring eight goals and recording 18 assists in all competitions.
