Ward joined Gateshead in January 2026, arriving on a permanent transfer from Altrincham until the end of the 2026/27 season.
He played a highly influential role in Gateshead’s remarkable escape from relegation during the latter half of the 2025/26 season, scoring five goals and recording six assists in 18 appearances on the right flank, with his goal at home to Braintree Town voted the club’s Goal of the Season.
