Amantchi joined Gateshead on a free transfer from Walsall in January 2026, signing an 18-month deal on Tyneside.
Raised in the the North East, the striker returned to the area to join The Heed for the first time since 2020 after previous stints with Darlington and Blyth Spartans in the National League North.
Amantchi has gained Football League experience since then, spending time with Bromley and Walsall after earning an initial move to the former with a 13-goal haul in 20 National League South games for Maidstone United in late 2023.
