Gateshead FC sponsor Dicksons brings a stamp of North East heritage to the pitch.
Dicksons is a company whose history is intrinsically linked to the borough of Gateshead and the wider Tyne & Wear region. As such, Gateshead FC is thrilled to have them on board as a club sponsor.
Originally founded in South Shields in 1953 by husband and wife Michael Irwin and Helen Dickson, who funnelled all of their capital into opening their very first premises, Dicksons has evolved over the years to become a veritable North East institution with over 30 shops across the region.
To this day, the company is still owned and managed by the same family who founded it. For over six decades they have been creating and distributing own-recipe meat and food products of the finest quality, satiating the comfort-food cravings of people across the North East. Over the years, tastes and preferences have certainly evolved and changed. However, whilst Dicksons has been mindful of continually evolving in order to meet these changing demands, they have retained their own unique, signature style that the people of the region have come to know and love.
Current products include a broad range of freshly baked savoury pastries, legendary pies, homely bread and a fantastic selection of both hot and cold ‘food on the go’. Dicksons also prides itself on high-quality butchery and a provision of freshly cooked meats, sausages and bacon. Whilst factory operations and shops are confined to Tyne & Wear localities, Dicksons wholesaling activity is spread over a broader area, with deliveries being made north of the border into Scotland and further south, too, to the likes of Yorkshire.
Gateshead FC is delighted to have secured sponsorship from such a legendary company, whose roots and operations are synonymous with the local area in which our club was born and bred. In addition to their sponsor status, Dicksons are further present at Gateshead International Stadium – the home of Gateshead FC – as the club’s official concourse food supplier. So, you can rest assured that you’ll certainly be well fed on match days, with Dicksons on hand to serve up a mouth-watering selection of hearty favourites.
