Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the permanent signing of goalkeeper Tiernan Brooks from EFL League Two side Notts County.
The 22-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Gateshead International Stadium, joining from The Magpies ahead of the 2024/25 Vanarama National League season.
Brooks made four appearances for The Magpies during the 2022/23 season as they earned promotion from the National League, and spent the first half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Irish side Cork City before joining Rochdale for the second half of the season.
He went on to make 12 National League appearances for The Dale last season, before being called up to the Republic of Ireland’s U21 squad for their friendlies against Croatia and England U20s in June.
“I’m buzzing to get it done!” said Brooks.
“Rob rang me and said the club were looking for a permanent goalkeeper, and why not? They play attractive football and that’s what you want to do.
“I just love playing football – the main objective for me is to just play as much football as I can.”
