Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Tom Allan.

Allan joins the club having left neighbours Newcastle United following the 2021/22 season and has penned a two-year deal at Gateshead International Stadium.

The forward joined The Magpies in 2012 having appeared for Cramlington Juniors as a schoolboy, and went on to earn an initial two-year scholarship at Newcastle in 2016.

The 22-year-old made his first team debut for the club in January 2020, assisting one in a 4-1 Emirates FA Cup third round win over Rochdale at St. James’ Park, and has more recently spent time on loan with League One side Accrington Stanley and Scottish Championship outfit Greenock Morton.

Allan lined up against Gateshead for Newcastle U23s in last season’s pre-season fixture at Gateshead International Stadium, and has played alongside Heed midfielder Owen Bailey in The Magpies’ academy setup.

“The style of football is probably the main reason I’ve ended up here,” said Allan.

“The stats speak for themselves with the amount of goals the forwards scored last year, which is exciting, so hopefully I can replicate that and get as many numbers as they did.”
